White Truffles are especially high in vitamin C which helps brighten the skin and fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation. The high levels of various B vitamins, such as Niacin, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 help hydrate and repair the skin. On average, White Truffles are priced around $8,000 per pound and are wild harvested in the Alba region of northern Italy. Truffles grow a few inches underneath the soil in symbiosis with certain species of hardwood trees and are only in season from late October through December. Specially trained dogs are used to sniff out white truffles, but global warming has made fewer and fewer white truffles available each year, making them a true rarity.
